Kelowna Sports
Slo-Pitch Softball
The City of Kelowna is home to one of Canada’s largest adult co-ed slo-pitch softball leagues with a variety of nights and levels to choose from each season. Leagues run in the spring, summer and fall.
Register as a team or individual. Prizes for divisional winners. Co-ed slo-pitch teams are made up of a 6:4 gender ratio (self-identified). A minimum of four players of the same gender must be on the field at all times.
All teams participate in weekly leagues games on their chosen night. Game start times are staggered between 6 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. nightly; 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on afternoons. Games have a one-hour and 45 minute time limit. Schedules are rotational through the available time slots as facilities allow.
Qualifying teams receive a minimum of one playoff game each season. Playoffs are a single knockout bracket, with those from your night and division, that takes place the last two weeks of the season. Prizes are awarded for playoff divisional winners.
Registration is available online for Intermediate, Recreational, and Beginner slo-pitch leagues. For Individuals, registration is available by phone 250-469-8800 or in person at Parkinson Recreation Centre.
Spring 2026
Registration opens on March 4 at 7:00 a.m. and closes March 18
Divisions
Beginner Division
The Beginner “Just for Fun” division is ideal for teams just starting out with slo-pitch, those playing casually, or groups with limited softball experience who are mainly interested in enjoying themselves and socializing. It focuses on learning fundamentals, teamwork, and enjoyment in a relaxed, social setting. The emphasis is on fun, skill development, and camaraderie rather than competition, with players aiming for ball contact instead of power hitting. Fielding and base-running skills vary, and errors are common, contributing to a low-stress, friendly environment. 1 home run limit per game.
Recreational Division
The Recreational division provides an excellent opportunity for teams with experience beyond the beginner level who seek friendly matches within a moderately competitive environment. Players should have a good grasp of slo-pitch rules and strategies, with teams made up of both experienced and moderate-level players. While play is somewhat challenging, errors are more common, and hitting is less consistent compared to higher leagues. This division bridges the beginner (formerly ‘E’ Beginner) and intermediate (formerly ‘D’ Intermediate) league divisions, offering a mix of competition and enjoyment. 1 home run limit per game.
Intermediate Division
The Intermediate division is for teams aiming for a higher level of play and is designed for experienced players with a strong knowledge of the game and rules. This division is suited for those who understand strategy and can consistently hit and field the ball. It offers advanced competition, maintains sportsmanship and camaraderie, and enforces a 2 home run limit per game.
